Police rape Nigeria

The alleged rapist may be charged

A dismissed police inspector in Zamfara State, Abdullahi Ibrahim, will soon face court trial for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl at gun point in Maradun Local Government area of the state during the last Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Zamfara Command, ASP Sanusi Amiru, said this in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune.

According to him, the officer was already dismissed and investigation into the case had been  completed, and that  the suspect would be charged to court.

Amiru said that the police would always punish any officer that abuse the public trust in his responsibility of protecting lives  of citizens.

The father of the rape victim, Mallam Muhammed Maradun, has persistently been pressing for the trial of the suspect to ensure justice in the case.

The randy police inspector had, during the last August Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration, connived with one other suspect, named Ali, also known as ‘AUGUST’ to abduct the victim, Aisha Bello, along with her friend, Shafa’atu, to the outskirts of the town where they raped her.
