Nigeria police officers caught on camera sorting bribe proceeds

Police officers sort rumpled naira notes made from extorting motorists and other citizens

It is an open secret that officers and men of the Nigerian police are terribly corrupt. And almost everyone in the force is on the game. Citizen Adekunle Alli was able to catch a team of corrupt officers on camera sorting naira notes made from extorting motorists and other citizens.

In the photograph, posted on his Facebook wall, he captioned the photograph, “Nigeria Police Force! A snippet into the life of policing in Nigeria with their extorted “N20 Bribe” counted in police station. A Rag tag police doing, What they Know best. Welcome to Nigeria, land of corruption.”

As long as secondary school certificate users are recruited into Nigeria policy , they can never move forward, their salary will not be enough to keep body and soul together , they will do all things ( bad or worst )
My advise is the policy should recruits at least, OND holders with good salary that will not allow them to rubbish policy name,
Another thing is the senior offers should not lie ( claim) they don’t send the junior offers to extorting money from the purplic .

  • police are the criminal in Nigeria no criminal can operate without the permission of police.

  • why not we try and police those on goverment first ??????

  • Criminals in uniform , police chief look at your boys. What will our well respected president say when he Sees this. Efcc chief waziri have gone rigim beware.

  • Jesusboy2000

Nigeria police are the kidnappers in the country. no criminal can perform without the helpful hands of the idiot police who knew nothing apart from taking bribe. That is why they always die young.

@Emekamonye2002,you are just talking with no common sense, why don’t you advice the collector when you know you are a good adviser MUMU

    • Gabby

it look like you are one of them,it is in your blood

  • Hynumber670

They also need to be paid well and also better equiped.

    • peter

we all know that, but you can not take that corruption out of their blood,if you think very well 70% of them go into policing because of the money they made out of people.well I can blame them the gove,it self are corrupt.if your remember the four girls that was put on the  news that robber a politician, why don’t you ask were did the politician get the money from.

  • Sandukwe

i am amused that you guys are sounding surprised and even doubting the picture. unfortunately even if you pick the policemen in the picture, they will deny and the IG will come to their defense. the picture is only portraying the nice part of the police force. they are actually worse than armed robbers. if am between robbers and policemen, i will rather run to the armed robbers than run to the police

    • Jide

You are right. Police will force you to part with what u have if the person leaves alive and will never be caught but Armed robbers can still be caught at least one day.

    • peter

      you are very right

  • Ify_kris

Virtually every pubic or civil servant in Nigeria is corrupt. Corruption is now a way of life in our country. This is just a tip of the iceberg, it’s that bad that children now have to be aided to write entrance examination into secondary schools. I dey laugh. If the law enforcement officers can be this bad tell me what we expect from other civil and public servants. If gold will rust what will iron do, of course decay.

    • Gabbyejo2

you can see that no body will talk about that because the are all corrupt and the corruption is the blood of Nigerian, the govet it self is corrupt, one person to buy a house of 20 million   euro and have billion in their bank account no body talk why some can not eat at all

  • Studynowmc23

It’s a pity. The site of these police officers can get you irritated you won’t mind collecting their guns and shooting them straight in the head. Hopeless set of people.

    • the country should be thankful to anyone that would take the gun and take them off. how different are they from our contemporary armed-robbers. i also believe that the proceeds of the bribe collections was being sorted for their bosses. just wondering who the boss could be, the DPO, comiisioner or even the OGA gabadaya

My friend, there’s № other story than d normal story we hear about Nigerian police men. If der was something different, can ü please explain why a normal hjuman being would be rearranging squeezed notes on d table. EVen bus drivers who are rugged, they stil have their monies arranged in Theiґ pockets. shame on Naija police. They have № reason to collect bribe.

  • Emekamonye2002

Fellow Nigerians, let’s stop blackmailing, painting our country bad before the international community. The truth is that we may not know the depth of the harm we are causing for our country when we consistently say we are a people of corrupt minds; It’s not well at all; we must remember that there is no other country we can call our own except NIGERIA. SO, instead of continuously rubbish our country as corrupt, LET’S SPEAK WELL OF OUR COUNTRY, so that foreigners and investors will perceive us in good light and bring their investments to our country….ALL THE BEST… EMEKA MONYE, JOURNALIST AND PR CONSULTANT.

    • only the shallow-minded would believe you if u claim good of the country brother. i can see you sense of patriotism hasn’t reached the level of fighting for the nation whatever the cause, including talking about it to an international audience

    • Deaduodeh

There is a thin line between realism and optimism my good Sir. Calling a spade a spade does not necessarily translate to rubbishing. There must be a proper diagnosis before total healing can come.

    • I cherished your response to that captured ugly image…washing our dirty linen outside can only blaken our image internationally, our police force is a replica of the society at large,no one can do any better if found in such a quagmire where both the giver and the taker are always in compromise..it takes two to tango!!it’s high time the oppressed stop given and swallow the paranoia of the oppressors.
