A Police sergeant who shot a 12 year old boy in Kano on Sallah eve was dismissed by Kano state Police command

The Kano State Police Command has dismissed a policeman who shot dead a 12-year-old boy on Sallah eve in Kano.

The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Magaji Majiya, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Monday.
He said Sgt. Laminu Adamu was found guilty of the offence during the orderly room trial and was, as a result, dismissed from service.

According to him, the suspect has since been charged to court in order to serve as deterrent to others.
“The commissioner has warned other men and officers of the command to adhere strictly to civil relations and professionalism in carrying out their duties.
“He also warned them against indolence and laxity as the command will not condone such acts.”

NAN recalls that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, on Aug.18 ordered the arrest of Mr. Adamu for allegedly shooting a 12-year-old boy who later died in hospital.
