Female police officer caught demanding A N100 bribe from bus driver arrested- LPPRO

Following a video clip of the female Nigerian police officer caught demanding a bribe of N100 from a bus driver in Lagos which went viral on the internet earlier this week, the Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested the said officer.

In a press statement made available to journalists by the state PPRO- Ngozi Braide; “We have arrested her and she is presently in our custody. She will be made to undergo an orderly room trial and the outcome will be made public,’’ she said.

Her arrest followed series of criticism from both civil societies and well meaning Nigerians. The act was very discouraging for a reviving police force.

The footage shows the driver appealing to the police officer to allow him continue his trip, but the these fell on deaf ears as the officer insisted on collecting the bribe which she eventually did.

However, the police image-maker could not provide the identity and the station the female officer was attached to, but promised to make these available in no distant time.
