Three Police officers Dismissed Over Alleged Killing of Pastor’s Son– Vanguard

The Nigerian Police Force has dismissed three police officers for killing a pastor’s son in Gwoza, the headquarters of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

State Commissioner of Police Mr. Lawal Tanko, disclosed this, yesterday, in an interview with journalists in Maiduguri, the state capital.

He said: “In line with the Inspector General of Police’s transformation agenda and zero tolerance for indiscipline and corruption, they should face the consequence of their action”.

The CP stated that the dismissal of the officers was to serve as deterrent to others, adding that they had already been charged to court.

It could be recalled that the boy was allegedly killed by the police when he beat their dog. They arrested him and allegedly beat him to death.

The commissioner said he was seeking the cooperation of journalists in all efforts to restore peace in the state, stressing that both police and journalists were working for the good of the society.

Tanko said that his doors were opened and called on journalists to always confirm any information before going to press.
